The cost of living is a big issue in the Dubai daily life. Of course every country has rising cost and usually people like to complain about the lack of money. But the Dubai life has some extremes that cannot be found in many other cities in the world.

The spiraling cost for housing and education are the talk of the town. And in most cases the salaries don't have the same increase. So you could have your finances well planned for the coming years....   and suddenly your cost are higher than your income with the same style of living.

For expats to be, the people who are negotiating contract agreements should be aware of these issues and take the cost of living in Dubai in consideration...... so, what are the cost of living????  How are these compared to my home country?

And for visitors and tourists passing by...... what should I buy in Dubai and what should I avoid???
